I am looking forward to my first venture to Case's Place this year. I have an internal struggle when it comes to sharing sacred East End secrets such as this. This unassuming treasure tucked away in the tiny hamlet of New Suffolk is already busting at the beams most days, and I know loyal patrons will want to cause me harm for luring in newcomers. But it’s so precious I feel that the ignorant should know, and the proprietors should have their treasure exposed to the entire island. I can’t help myself – hopefully loose lips won’t sink ships in this case (excuse the pun).
The reason most folks will never get to experience the magic of Case’s is that it is REALLY off the beaten path. Once you turn off the main road you find yourself in North Fork back country, where life just seems to stand still amidst the surrounding chaos of tourists.
The views here are breathtaking, second to none on LI in my opinion. The Case family has a sea-loving bloodline dating back to the 1640s on the North Fork, and they are keeping their nautical pulse alive through their fresh seafood and scenic bayside property. They attract a hefty lunch crowd, especially when the weather's ideal. But you can take the opportunity to have a drink and relax
on the waterfront while you impatiently wait for a table (outdoors for sure!). Truly a great mini-escape from reality.
