For the second year in a row the gardens at Old Westbury are magically illuminated - with a little help from some expert elves - allowing you to see the grounds in a whole new light. This year's "Shimmering Solstice" promises to be bigger and better than last year, and runs through New Year's Day. The lights are strategically designed to highlight your way through the famous Walled Garden, Rose Garden, South Lawn, Allée, and more, accompanied by a festive holiday soundtrack. They've also added a "warming area" to thaw out as a bonus.
These beautiful photos were taken by Lindsay Silverman last season, a local photographer who shares his talent with Long Island Living on occasion.
